Our Warranty

The product warranty at Capitol Door & Window sales follows that of the manufacturer of the items in question. In general, it is a one-year limited warranty on all products for materials and workmanship that begins from the date of shipment to Capitol Door & Window. Most warranties include a repair, replacement, or refund policy, at the manufacturers' discretion, as a remedy for items in question. Repair means that any defects will be repaired to an industry-standard like-new condition by a representative chosen by the manufacturer, Replacement means that the product will be replaced to Capitol Door & Window in the state of fitting and /or finishing as was originally supplied. Normally, Capitol Door & Window will then supply replacement items to the original customer in the state of fitting and/or finishing as was originally supplied. A refund means that the original purchase price will be paid to the original customer as cash, credit card, or a credit on account. No credit will be allowed, nor will reimbursements be made, for labor, transportation, refinishing, reinstallation, or any other costs incurred by the customer for repaired or replacement items unless specifically agreed to in advance by us and the manufacturer.

The final user must have followed the recommended installation and finishing instructions, and the product cannot be subjected to unusual or drastic environmental conditions, in order for warranties to stay in effect. Also, abuse or vandalism, or use of products other than for what they were intended is not covered. There are no warranties, express or implied, made by Capitol Door & Window sales, beyond those set by the various manufacturers for their own products. Copies of the various manufacturers’ warranties, tolerances, exclusions, and claim procedures, as well as recommended installation and finishing instructions, are available upon request from us or from the various manufacturers.

Capitol Door & Window sales regularly provides the service of machining doors to customer specifications using measurement sheets or existing doors as patterns. Occasionally newly machined doors do not meet the customer’s expectations of fit and function. Capitol Door Sales recommends that doors be installed prior to finishing so that should modifications be necessary they can be done without re-finishing. Capitol Door & Window sales will not be responsible for refinishing or touching up doors that require modifications. We guarantee workmanship and fit, but due to tool and insurance requirements, all doors requiring modification or replacement must be returned to our facility by the customer.

Please inspect carefully the glass that may come in your door. Claims of exterior damage to glass will not be honored beyond 48 hours after taking delivery nor will they be honored after the door is installed. Workmanship and internal defects in IG units are covered by the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty.
