  • Q. Are you licensed to install doors and windows?

    A. Yes. Capitol Door & Window is fully licensed by the State of California to install residential and commercial doors and windows. CSLB License #1106561

  • Q. What is the difference between a Match door and a Pre -Hung? How do I know which I need?

    A. A Match Door (sometimes called a slab door) is just the door itself: 

    • No frame
    • No Hinges (purchase separately)

    This is a good option when you're replacing a door but want to keep the existing frame. It requires more precise fitting and installation work, like cutting hinge mortises and drilling for the knob and latch.


    A Pre-Hung Door is a complete unit that includes:

    • The door slab (the actual door)
    • A door frame (jambs) with hinges attached
    • Exteriors includes a threshold and possibly weather stripping

    This is ideal for new construction or when the existing door frame is damaged or needs replacing. It can simplify installation because everything is aligned and ready to go.

  • Q. What warranty do you offer?

    A. All Products include a vendor warranty; duration is determined by each vendor. They all cover manufacturer defects like warped doors or scratches inside glass panes, etc. Warranties are valid only if all six sides of the door are properly pre-finished prior to install.


    All Services we provide include our 1-year warranty. Any issues regarding our add-on features of measurements, pre-finishing, or installation that fall short of our standards, we'll correct it at no cost when reported within the purchase timeframe.


    Standard wear & tear is not covered under warranty. An inspection fee may apply if we are unable to verify a valid warranty during your requested service call.


    Note: Warranties apply only to products and services purchased and completed by Capitol Door & Window. If measurements were provided by you or your contractor and the door was built accordingly, it is not eligible for warranty correction or refund. Similarly, if pre-finishing or installation was not purchased through Capitol Door & Window, we cannot provide corrections/reimbursements to add-ons that you've DIYed or purchased outside of Capitol Door & Window even if discrepancies originated from us or our vendor. Warranty is only for what was purchased through us.

  • Q. What door package options does Capitol Door & Window offer?

    A. We offer four flexible options: Product Purchase, Measure Guarantee, Measure & Match Install, and our Welcome Home White Glove Package for pre-hung doors. See packages.

  • Q. Can I purchase a door without installation?

    A. Yes. With our Product Purchase option, you provide the measurements, and we build the door to those specifications. Installation and measurement warranties are not included.

  • Q. Can Capitol Door & Window measure my door for me?

    A. Yes. Our Measure Guarantee includes professional measurements so your new door is built to the measurements we provide. You or your contractor handles the pre-finishing and installation.

  • Q. What is included in the Welcome Home White Glove Package?

    A. Our Welcome Home Package for pre-hung doors includes professional measuring, pre-finishing, removal and disposal of the existing door, installation of your new door, trim and hardware, plus finishing details such as nail-hole putty and minor stucco and paint touch-ups.

  • Q. Is my door installation covered by a warranty?

    A. Warranty coverage depends on the package selected. Our Welcome Home Package includes warranty coverage on the measurements, door, installation, and finish work performed by Capitol Door & Window.

  • Q. Can my new door be painted or stained before installation?

    A. Yes. Pre-finish work is available so your door can arrive painted or stained to your specifications, with matching touch-up paint or stain.

  • Q. Do you offer door delivery?

    A.Yes. Delivery is available as an add-on. Pricing is based on the delivery ZIP code and is quoted separately from the package price.
